Faith Is Not in A Hurry

This Morning I woke up extra tired. I picked up my phone and listened to a message.

That message reminded me of a prayer that I have been praying for a while, to which I have an answer, but I don’t have the manifestation of the answer.

My church people are probably already nodding. But if you have had to re-read the last sentence a few times and it still does not make sense, let me break it down.

In walking with God, there are times that you pray, and God immediately gives you a very clear response and you see the physical representation of that response almost immediately.

There are certain times though when you pray and you don’t get a clear response, so you keep asking;

And there’s the third scenario, where you pray, you get a clear response of ‘I have done it,’ ‘It is done’, yet the physical manifestation of what you were told, does not show up. – sometimes, for years.

If you are one of those faith generals that experiences this and just shrugs it off like, God has said it, so I know it is done- we are learning from you.

However, If you are like me, and you’ve been waiting for a few years for the manifestation of something you are absolutely sure God has given you, let me share with you something that God said to me this morning as I was in another ranting spree of ‘God, how far?’

Read with Me: ‘ Therefore, this is what the Sovereign Lord says:
“Look! I am placing a foundation stone in Jerusalem,[d]
    a firm and tested stone.
It is a precious cornerstone that is safe to build on.
Whoever believes need never be shaken. [e]Isaiah 28: 16 (NLT)

Another Translation says ‘ He who believes will not make haste’- (NKJV)

While I was still trying to digest this, as the Holy Spirit is known to do, He topped it with some more:

Read with me: ‘

We do not want you to become lazy, but to imitate those who through faith and patience inherit what has been promised. -Hebrews 6: 12 (NIV)

Did you just see the shots fired? Ouch! Sometimes, the Holy Spirit does not play nice.

Dear Fellow Believer, Listen. The Faith that we have been called to have is not microwave faith. It is not drive- thru faith.

It is patient faith. There are promises that require a combination of Faith and Patience.

You can’t have faith and be in a hurry.

Don’t let anyone put you under pressure. Everything God has promised you was promised in time and until that time comes, wait.

Wait Patiently.

Just as I was about to wrap up this post, I remembered that I have been taught this lesson before- 9 years ago here: https://tobilobaajayi.wordpress.com/2013/09/12/patient-faith/

I know it is not easy. Trust me, I know.

However, He who believes is not in a hurry.

I recommit to patient faith.

Who’s with me?
