WHAT DO YOU SEE?

A daily post from one of my all time favourite authors- Max Lucado inspired today’s post.

Read with me: ‘Blessed are the pure in heart, for they shall see God’– Matthew 5:8

The Message translation puts it in a way that I really like. It says: ‘You’re blessed when you get your inside world- your mind and heart put right, then you can see God in the outside world’. –Matthew 5:8(MSG)

The condition of your heart is directly responsible for what you see.

We all view life through the sight of our hearts. That’s why we respond to situations the way we do.

The condition of your heart determines what you see in every situation.

If your heart is pure, the word is clear, you will see God.

You’ll see God in that job loss, God in that challenge, God in that delay and God in EVERYTHING.

If all you’re seeing is the devil, witches, wizards and enemies, you need to check the state of your heart.

No wonder some visually impaired people I know seem to have better sight than their peers who are not visual impaired.

Clean out your heart with the word of God.

The pure in heart will see God.

What do you see today?

I see God.

KEEP PRACTICING

Have you prayed, fasted, searched the word over a matter and and you just were not sure what God was saying?

Have you ever wondered how those people who seem to hear God so clearly in everything do it?

Have you ever wondered how they got to that point of certainty?

If you’ve never wondered, I thank God for you and I want to be like you lol.

But if the questions above sound like the questions you’ve asked or are currently asking, welcome to the club.

I had these questions for a long time in my Christian walk until God taught me an answer.

For a long time, I couldn’t share that answer because I did not have a scripture to quote to back it up.

Until last Sunday.

In the middle of a sermon, the pastor quoted a scripture and since then I knew I finally had to share this to help as many people in the same boat.

Read with me: ‘But solid food is for the mature whose perceptions are trained by practice to discern both good and evil.’-Hebrews 5: 14 (NET)

The punch line for today is ….’Whose perceptions are trained by practice…’

You can only become certain of God’s voice by practice and obedience.

The first time you feel fairly certain about something God is saying, even if you are not 100% certain, run with it.

If it doesn’t turn out the way you expect or you felt God told you it would, take it back to Him. He’s the one who makes ALL things work out for our good-even our seeming mistakes-Romans 8:28.

Never get discouraged when you seem to get it wrong.

Keep practicing. Keep training your perception by following the leading as much as you know.

No child ever learns to walk without falling. I dare say that it is almost certain that you will make a few mistakes when you are learning to hear God clearly.

It does not mean you are not saved.

Don’t give up. Keep practicing, keep training your perception.

You’ll get to that point of certainty where you’ll get it right more than you get it wrong.
Continuous perception training mode activated.

Costly Giving

In the last couple of days I’ve been going through what I now think is ‘growing pains’.

The area of pain has been in giving.

When you see giving, the first thing that comes to mind is money right? Yeah, I know. Before now I would have thought so too.

God asked me to do something that every iota of my right thinking mind thought was completely crazy. (I’ll share the details later when I have the release to do so).

I kept thinking, Lord you’re asking way too much of me. This is so unfair. And more importantly Lord, How does this benefit me?

Anyone feel me?

Then God sent me to this scripture: Give away your life, you’ll find life given back…..Giving not getting is the way.’ Luke 6:37-38(MSG)

And then I realised something big.

Giving away our possessions (things) can be easy. But giving ourselves, that’s hard.

Giving yourself will cost you! It will hurt! It will be hard.

Until this wake up call, I gave comfortable offerings, I gave my tithes, I even gave my possessions sometimes. But they were not costing me any more.

As you grow in God, the things that cost you will change, Hence the things that God will demand of you will also change.

God just woke me up. The God kind of giving will cost me! If it’s not costing me, I’ve been giving on my terms not God’s.

How are you giving? On your terms or God’s terms?

is your giving costing you?

We need to be like David who said ‘I will not offer to the Lord what costs me nothing’-2 Samuel 24:24, I Chronicles 21:24

Examine your giving to God today. Is it costing you something?

Who’s with me in this giving revolution?
