I walked into a home bible study session last Sunday.-late. I guess God factored my late coming into the plan because just after I got there, someone read out a particularly popular scripture I’m sure those of us that have been in church a while know.

Read with me:But he was wounded and bruised for our sins. He was beaten that we might have peace; he was lashed—and we were healed! -Isaiah 53:5 (TLB)

Usually in church, we usually emphasize the last part. But as I listened, the Holy Spirit keep ringing- ‘he was beaten that we might have peace’ in my head and mind.

Peace is a covenant right  because I belong to Christ, It was part of the package He paid for on the cross. I own it.But as long as I do not appropriate it, the devil will continue to scramble my mind with worry.

No wonder Jesus said confidently: My peace I bequeath you you-John 14:27.(AMP)

If you are like me and you have issues with worry, News flash, Christ took your worries and replaced it with His peace. Appropriate your peace today and stop letting the devil cheat you.

Peace is your inheritance as a child of God. Take it.

Peace appropriation mode activated.

Where Do you Find Happiness?

Have you ever prayed for certain things or pursued certain things that you were so sure were going to make you happy?

Have you ever said or thought, If only…………… could happen, I would be the happiest person on earth?

And lastly, have you ever been in a situation where you finally had all the things you thought you wanted and the happiness it brought didn’t last?

if you answered yes to all these questions, welcome to my world.

For a very long time, I  never understood it, so I mentally accepted it as the practicality of  what I was taught in O’Level Economics that ‘human wants are insatiable’.

Then God hit me with the truth from the word again yesterday.

Read with me: ‘Seek your happiness in the Lord, and he will give you your heart’s desire’-Psalm 37:4.

The message is clear. The one place I should  look for happiness should be in the Lord-not anywhere  else or in anything else.  It is then and only then that my deepest heart desires can come!

Note that God did not promise to give you the desires of your lips, He promised to give you the desires of your heart-we’re talking about those deep things you can’t ever utter when you pray.

Yet He,s promised to give them to you. How cool is that promise?

I don’t know about you,but I like it and I want it!

It comes at a price though. I have to learn to seek my happiness in the Lord.

I don’t think that price is too high to pay for the benefits  I get.

Where do you seek happiness? From world or the Lord?

I’ve seen what the world has to offer. I’m seeking happiness in the Lord.

What Do I Have To Offer?

Have you ever been in a place where you felt like you had nothing to offer?

I know I have. I grew up among really intelligent and gifted people so it was not hard to wonder what it was I had to offer.

And for a long time, that kept me on the sidelines of everything. I never offered to do anything, tried anything or put myself out there in any way.

Until I ran into this scripture a while back. Read with me: ‘In his grace, God has given us different gifts to do certain things well…’ Romans 12:6

The crux of the matter: You have abilities that are unique to you. There are certain things that only you can do the way you can.

They are crafted specifically for you. Whatever abilities others have is not your business

Get off the sidelines and deploy those gifts and abilities.

I’m enjoying using my abilities to God’s glory.
