Let God Build it, Let God Watch It

If you are a follower of this blog, you probably saw yesterday’s post on Idol Worship. Well, this is a continuation of that thought process prayer and three distinct words from three distinct sources in the last 24 hours.

I concluded yesterday that we usually idolize the gifts that God gives us after a lot of spiritual gymnastics.

What I did not tell you was why. The why is quite obvious isn’t it? We don’t want to lose these things (or people) so we begin to prioritize them till we prioritize them over God.

What’s the antidote you might ask? Listen to what God said to me this morning as I asked the same question:
Read with me:’Unless the Lord builds the house, the builders labor in vain.
Unless the Lord watches over the city, the guards stand watch in vain.-Psalm 127:1

Listen, You can’t watch over anything or build anything successful with your strength or your unconscious Idolatry. Those things you prioritize over God- husband, marriage, children, work, money… You know what your idol is, You can’t build them, you can’t watch them. It is God’s job.

Everything you have including the people in your life, was provided by God- I Corinthians 4:7, so why do you think God needs your help or your manipulations to keep what he gave you?

Learn and internalize that lesson and save yourself the stress. What God ordains, He provides for, protects and keeps- without your help.

Your part in the script is to trust Him and obey him. How do you trust and obey Him if you’re so caught up trying to guard and keep His gifts that you don’t have time to get to know him.

Son/Daughter of God, Stop trying so hard to build and watch the gifts God gives you.

Let God build what needs building, Let God watch what needs watching.

Offer no assistance, Render no resistance, Let Him build it, Let Him watch it.

I’m learning all over again to let God protect what He provided.

Who’s with me?
