Treasure Hunt

Did you ever play treasure hunts? I did. Half the fun was the hunt, the best part was finding the treasure

In the last day or so I discovered something about the ultimate treasure hunt.

Read with me: But we have this treasure in jars of clay, to show that the surpassing power belongs to God and not to us-2 Corinthians 4:7

The treasure Paul was referring to in this verse was the Gospel of Christ that had been entrusted to him.

As far as he was concerned, he was the clay jar. Just in case the clay jar analogy went over your head, let me clarify.

If you grew up in places with an abundance of clay soil like I did (and Paul too), you know clay ‘anything’ is cheap. People do not usually place a lot of value on clay items.

But wait till a clay item is designated for a special purpose, then you’ll see value being placed on it by the owner.

An ordinary clay pot becomes the valuable clay pot because it is the household’s natural refrigerator.

The pot suddenly had value because of what it holds.

In what areas are you being treated like valueless clay pot? In what area do you feel like you don’t have value?

News Flash, God lives in you. As a result, you are a carrier of amazing treasure, therefore you have amazing value.; not because of yourself but because of your content.

What’s more, every human being carries in them the breath of God and therefore carries treasures in them.

What do you see when you see people? Clay jars or treasure hunt?

Remember, the hunt is half the fun, finding the treasure is the goal.

Are you seeing the treasures in people?

Treasure seeking eyesight activated.

Who’s with me?
