In life, we are constantly looking for something.
We will always want more. It is part of the human condition.
The problem is not in wanting more in itself but wanting more of the wrong things.
This could be disastrous, even downright fatal and hazardous to our physical and spiritual health.
What are the right things to look for then? You may be asking.
I found the answer in a very common scripture. It reads:
‘But seek first the kingdom of God and His righteousness, and all these things shall be added to you.’-Matthew 6:33
The work seek is synonymous to searching for or looking for something.
The kingdom of God is the domain or rule of God. Therefore seeking for the kingdom of God is synonymous to allowing God’s word be the final authority in your life, no rationalization or questioning.
This reminds me of something I read a while back. It said, you cannot say ‘Thy kingdom come’ until you say’ My kingdom go’. There cannot be two captains in the ship of your life. If you’re going to seek His kingdom, His word has to be final.
It is however not enough to seek His kingdom; you also have to seek His righteousness.
Righteousness is received by faith, therefore you have to have, retain and grow your faith in Christ.
Therefore Faith in Christ+ obedience to His word = everything you need!
Simply put, grow your faith and obey His word. Everything else becomes an added advantage.
I need to grow my faith and accept His Lordship.
Who is with me?
